Hats and Good Wives

I don't know why I do this!
I started yet another knitting project!
I have a poncho I've started awhile ago,
another pair of socks started,
a dish cloth started,
and I started a hat last night!

I do have reasons for it.
The poncho is a HUGE project and it gets overwhelming.
The sock is to the part that I need quiet to do it without mistakes.

AND most of all, I just love doing hats!
I'd like to make each of the boys a hat for their stockings next year,
so I grabbed the yarn I'd like to use and started
a fun hat last night.  I can do them without too much extra thinking.
That is why I love doing hats!
Our boys wear hats for at least 6 months of the year too!

I just finished The Preacher's Bride.
It was SO good! I really enjoyed it.  The main character Elizabeth
was quite the woman.
I didn't realize it until I was all done and read the Author's Note
in the back, that the book was written based on the
life of John Bunyan's wife.
John Bunyan is one of history's great heroes of the faith.
He is the auther of Pilgrim's Progress.
It was written about the woman who stood by his side and helped shape
him into the hero we all know and love.

It was inspiring to me to be a wife that stands for right and
one who stands by her man!

Am I the only one, or do you too have many knitting projects going?
How many do you have? :)

  1. I have no knitting project, but I have one good wife!

  2. That sounds like a great book. I LOVE Pilgrims Progress: was one of my favorite books as a kid; it really helped shape my thinking in daily living about Christianity. I'd like to read about John Bunyan's wife.
I have WAY too many projects sitting around: but mine are crochet. I have enough yarn to wrap the whole house up and nobody would be able to see it, I think!! :) LOVE seeing what you're up to, esp with these cute dollies in the house! :)

  3. I'm like Tonya, mine are crochet projects. I have a bedspread I work on for a while then I have to take a break. I just recently started making a crocheted checkerboard (like Cracker Barrel has) with small granny squares. I'm really excited about it. I should learn how to knit too, maybe one day...

  4. Anna, I can picture you crocheting away at Ruthie's wedding! So cute! I love to crochet too, I have lots of those projects started too! :)
